Who we are :

The YNGOC is a national, non-governmental organization concerned with the rights of children and their well being at their different age groups. It is the first non-governmental coalition in Yemen and the Middle East that includes (45) NGOs in 12 governorates of the Republic of Yemen. The YNGOC has  coordinators in more than 12 governorates, a qualified and trained administrative team, as well as consultants with diverse expertise and competencies  .

Our Massage:

Integration of all efforts of the civil society and government in order to improve the status of children in society through conducting programs and activities leading to implementation of the International Convention for the Rights of the Child (ICRC).

Credibility: accuracy of the word and precision of information.

Cooperation: Through a team that represents the spirit of a one team formed from civil society organizations represented by their representatives in the general assembly, unifying efforts and networking with NGOs and distributing tasks and programs according to the distinguished specialization of each foundation.

Excellence:  the YNGOC is distinguished by preparation and submission of the parallel reports, which are periodically discussed with the International Committee on the Rights of the Child and the universal periodic reports  (UPR) with the Human Rights Council, Geneva.

Overall Objectives:

To advocate childhood issues in Yemen

Sub-objectives:

  1. To submit shadow reports (parallel to government reports) and discuss them with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child
  2. To Network and unify efforts among NGOs and donor organizations
  3. To work on anti-violence programs against children;
  4. To work on the monitoring and follow-up of children’s issues
  5. To protect and provide care for children in conflict with the law
  6. To build the capacities of the staff of civil society organizations working in the field of childhood, as well as of local councils
  7. To conduct studies, desk research and field monitoring programs on child issues and affairs
  8. To coordinate and network with government institutions relevant to child issues, interested international actors to provide urgent needs and priority services for children
  9. To disseminate and promote international agreements and instruments and the principle of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as national legislation and laws relevant to children

 

To Work with government and NGOs working in the field of children’s rights to improve shortcomings in legislation and services related to children.

The YNGOC operates at the level of 14 governorates in implementing of various projects and programs (the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a, Amran, Al Baida, Raimah, Dhamar, Ibb, Hajjah, Mahweet, Taiz, Hodeida, Aden, Al Jouf, and Hadramout).
